The Game of Thrones prequel may not have initially been something for you as an Outlander fan. With this casting, it’s going to be something to watch.

When it comes to “shows like Outlander,” you’ll often see Game of Thrones listed. However, the series based on George R.R. Martin’s saga is not for everyone. And if you didn’t like the way the series ended, you may not have given the Game of Thrones prequel much thought.

House of the Dragon has an outstanding cast, though. The Crown‘s Matt Smith is one of the leading stars in the series, and we can make an Outlander connection through the six degrees of separation. Smith played a younger version of Prince Philip on The Crown, a role that Tobias Menzies took on for Seasons 3 and 4 of the same series, and we know Menzies was on Outlander.

In fact, Menzies was on Game of Thrones, along with a few other Outlander actors. British shows are all connected through their actors!

Now it comes to the latest casting, which hasn’t actually been officially announced. According to our sister site, Winter Is Coming, Graham McTavish will be in the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon.

Who will Graham McTavish play on the Game of Thrones prequel?

Nobody has any answers to the question right now, especially since the casting hasn’t even been officially announced. It’s all been through some leaked footage of filming that we even got to know about the casting.

Our sister site theorizes that McTavish will play Ser Harrold Westerling, King Viserys I Targaryen’s Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Considering the types of roles we’ve seen McTavish play, including the War Chief of Clan MacKenzie, this casting would certainly make sense.

All we know is that we’re excited for the end of 2021 and for 2022. Remember, McTavish is also going to be in The Witcher Season 2, which is set to arrive at the end of this year!

The Game of Thrones prequel will air on HBO. You can watch all eight seasons of the main series there, too.
