Lauren Lyle and Gary Lewis among actors in BBC One’s Vigil

Lauren Lyle is busy with Outlander, but that doesn’t mean she won’t appear in other shows. She and Gary Lewis are appearing in Vigil.

We’re always looking out for something to watch during Droughtlander. This Droughtlander has been harder than others, especially when we had no idea when the show was even going to return to filming. However, the break in filming has led to some of the actors taking on other projects.

Lauren Lyle is one of those actors taking on other projects, and she’s not the only Outlander star in the show. Gary Lewis also appears in Vigil, a new drama coming to BBC One soon. It will probably eventually head to the U.S., and we’re probably looking at it going to BritBox for that.

The two have roles on the smaller side in the movie. The six-part series is focused on Suranne Jones’s DCI Amy Silva and Rose Leslie’s DS Kirsten Longacre. Matthew Compston also stars, which makes sense since the series is from the Line of Duty creators.

What is Vigil about?

If the cast doesn’t sell the series to you, the fact that it is about a Scottish mystery may help. Vigil focuses on a Scottish fishing trawler mysteriously going missing. Meanwhile, there’s a death on board the submarine HMS Vigil. DCI Silva and DS Longacre delve into the investigation, learning that there’s a conspiracy that goes deeper than they ever expected.

This time, it really is a matter of national security. And there are a lot of fears that will come up. The deeper you go, the darker it gets!

Lewis plays one of those who brings Amy into the case involving the submarine. It’s not really clear who Lyle’s character is.

The trailer certainly sets the tone for the series. If you love the likes of Line of Duty and Bodyguard, this is going to be a must-watch series for you.
