Every episode of Men in Kilts or Outlander just makes me want to visit Scotland to see its natural beauty, and that was no different in Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 6.  Here are the top five moments from the episode.

This episode, Sam and Graham took us around Scotland to explore the beautiful country by land, air, and sea. We learn about the old hag who some believe created Scotland and its many islands, visit Loch Ness, and even a site where a couple of big movie productions have filmed.

One of my favorite things about this episode is the dynamic between Sam and Graham. We’ve seen the fun these two have in each episode, but I felt like the jokes, impressions, and general goofing off were so much more and I loved it.

Joking aside, we got to see some breathtaking views of Scotland. Here are the five best moments from Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 6.

An Outlander family reunion

A familiar face from seasons 1 and 2 of Outlander helped ferry Sam and Graham to the center of Loch Ness. It was none other than Gary Lewis, aka Colum McKenzie in Outlander. It was so nice to see an actor who worked closely with Sam and Graham on the show. I do wish we were able to spend some more time with Gary, but his cameo was still a fun one!

A dip in freezing mountain water

We weren’t in the water with them but based on Sam and Graham’s reactions you could tell the water they swam in was freezing. A new fact I learned (which is one of the best things about the show!)—wild swimming is important in Scotland. This part of the episode was so funny.

I think Sam had some practice being in cold water from shooting that scene at Lallybroch back in Season 1 when he was trying to fix the mill.

A trip in the seaplane

The duo flew by Ben Lomond which is a Munro. A Munro is a mountain that’s over 3,000 feet (wow!). Sam has climbed this very mountain in the winter. Warning: you need to be careful because it’s hard to see and there are sheer drops. Why does Sam enjoy doing this?

I’ve never been on a seaplane and now it’s on my bucket list. You can’t beat that view!

Rappelling off Kilt Rock

This was the highlight of the episode for me. Graham had to face one of his greatest fears—heights. Poor Graham is shaking with fear as he goes abseiling on Kilt Rock. Sam couldn’t hold it together and was under strict orders from Graham to stop talking to him.

I don’t blame him. I’m an adventurous person and that looked scary! But Graham does it and gets an applause from the crew. And a hug from Sam.

Nude on stage

In the credits scene, Sam and Graham talk about their experiences having to be nude on stage. Sam’s first job on stage was opening night with many critics… and his mom.

Graham had a similar experience with one of his shows. His mom and dad came to watch one of his shows. Though they were warned Graham had a nude scene, his dad told him “there was no need for that, Graham.” Talk about awkward!
