Brianna and Roger discuss baby names in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 69

It’s time for the Frasers to head to the Gathering, and that gives everyone time to chat about baby names. Let’s take a look inside Outlander Book 4, Chapter 69.

This is the chapter where the baby finally starts to get a name. It’s not the official name in the end, but it’s a start. And it does give us a look into the importance of some of the names for both Roger and Brianna.

We also get a connection back to a name from earlier in the books. If you thought Morag Gunn MacKenzie was going to be important, you’d be right. Everything falls into place for Roger in this moment. At least, it feels like it does.

This is a very short chapter. It sets the initial layout for the final chapters of Drums of Autumn and the start of The Fiery Cross. We get to a moment of the family all together, including Marsali. Something I do miss in the show is seeing Brianna and Marsali connect as sisters-in-law.

There is a tiny bit of foreshadowing in this chapter. I’ll get to that.

However, the chapter wasn’t used in the TV series. That’s not surprising considering the Gathering was changed considerably.

Let’s dive into Drums of Autumn Chapter 69.
