Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with the family leaving River Run for Fraser’s Ridge. From there, we get into the birth certificate.

It turns out the baby doesn’t have a Christian name just yet. Brianna is holding out some hope that Roger will make the decision to return. Everyone else has come up with some pet name for the baby while Brianna decides what to do.

That’s not the only problem, though. Which name will Brianna want to use as her surname. Is it Randall or is it Fraser? I love Jamie’s suggestion of using both in this context. He knows how important Frank was to Brianna, but he also notes that Bree changed her last name to Fraser when she came to the past. That must mean something.

However, Jamie is concerned. He knows that Bree has forgiven him for now, but what if Roger doesn’t return and acknowledge the baby? Will Brianna still be able to forgive him for his actions?

Claire decides not to focus on the bad. They need to believe that Roger will return.

That’s when we cut to a scene from Roger’s point of view. He has returned to the clearing where he first met Jamie Fraser. It’s time to get back to Brianna.

I love the way this ends. We don’t have the drama, just an end that leaves us excited for a reunion.
