Brianna gives birth with her parents by her side in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 64

It’s time for Osbert to make his appearance in the world in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 64. Of course, it couldn’t happen without both Claire and Jamie present.

In fact, Claire wasn’t technically by Brianna’s side. As everyone would have expected, Claire was there to deliver Bree’s baby. Jamie was the one to offer support and distraction, while also being there to make Brianna feel safe.

After that, it’s time to discuss genetics. Is it possible at this stage to tell who Jemmy’s father is? Will they ever know, and does it matter?

One thing that we all know now is that this chapter wasn’t in the show. Brianna delivered her baby with Lizzie and Phaedre present. For some, it definitely didn’t work, but for others, it did. I’ll get to why that was for both in the adaptation breakdown.

Is there foreshadowing, though? I think there might be a little bit, but this is mostly in the present to show a beautiful family moment.
