Two formidable Outlander actors have joined the cast of The Witcher Season 2. Who are they and who will they play in the Netflix series?

It’s been a long wait for The Witcher Season 2, just like it’s been a long wait for Outlander Season 6. The pandemic is to blame for both, but things are starting to look up. Filming got underway for the Netflix series last year although was shut down due to positive COVID tests for a while.

Now we get some casting news for the second season. Seven new cast members were announced, and two of them are former Outlander stars. You’ll remember both!

Graham McTavish and Simon Callow join The Witcher Season 2

You’ll get to see Graham McTavish and Simon Callow back on your screens. When it comes to British productions, neither of them stay away from shows for too long. And McTavish has been doing some work across the seas, too.

McTavish, who is best known as Dougal MacKenzie to Sassenachs around the world, will play Sigismund Dijkstra. He usually goes by the name Dijkstra.

In the books and the games, he’s described as a physically imposing man and is the head of Redanian Intelligence. He’s exceptionally clever but does have a preference for bright colors and flamboyant clothes. He uses the title “count,” but he is a commoner.

Simon Callow will take on the role of Codringher on The Witcher Season 2. We know him best as the Duke of Sandringham, though. The Duke turned out to be a dangerous and questionable man, but is that the type of role Callow will play again?

Codringher is one half of the infamous Codringher and Fenn in the books and games. The two form a Dorian detective agency. While many people think the two to be the same person, Fenn simply stays away because of his crippled status. Liz Carr will play the role of Fenn, meaning there’s a gender swap for the series.

The Witcher Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix. Stay tuned for updates about The Witcher Season 2.
