Just the Outlander chapter

It all starts with Brianna and Jamie heading out for River Run. On the way, Brianna thinks about the last words she’s said to Jamie.

She brought up Frank and how he would never have done something that Jamie has. You see, Jamie is interested in his honor rather than Brianna’s honor. This is the part of him that comes from the time period. In this time, Brianna being raped does damage Jamie’s honor. The things that happened to her affect the whole family.

The fight was hard on Jamie, though. Brianna called Frank her father, which would have a knock-on effect on Jamie’s emotions. He left the cabin after the fight with Ian going with him. Claire remained with Brianna to console her.

Jamie returned with the news that they were heading out for Roger. However, Brianna wasn’t to come with them. They’d have no idea how long they’d be on the road for and Brianna is too far gone now to risk having her with them. So, she has to go to River Run.

Jamie does tell Brianna if he doesn’t find Roger and bring him back, he won’t come back at all.

We then get a time jump. Brianna has been at River Run for a few months, and she feels the baby move. This is when Bree realizes something that her mother mentioned. You don’t expect to feel this love for this invader, but you do. Your body knows all about it first, but then the head realizes.

Bree knows that whatever happens to Roger, she’s not alone in the world. She has her baby, and choosing not to have the abortion was the best thing for her.
