Claire treats her two measles patients in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 28

We spend some time back at Fraser’s Ridge in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 28. It’s time for Claire to treat her two patients.

Yes, two. Lord John Grey had already come down with measles. That was why Jamie had taken Willie away for a few days to make sure Willie didn’t get sick. Well, Young Ian has also come down with the illness.

Claire is pretty confident that the both of them will pull through. While contagious and dangerous for some, measles is one of those illnesses that many Europeans survived from.

One thing this chapter offers is a bit of an understanding between Claire and Lord John Grey. It’s not quite in the same way as the series, but it is partly used for the show. In fact, a lot of this chapter is used for the show, but some of it is changed around to keep specific drama to individual episodes.

It is a chapter on the longer side, coming it at around one-hour-10-minutes on Audible. However, it’s more than worth the read, packed with detail and information. It’s time to learn a little more about Lord John Grey.

Let’s delve into Drums of Autumn Chapter 28.
