Roger thinks about a way to woo Brianna in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 24

We get to a very short chapter of Outlander Book 4, taking up just three pages of the story. It’s back to the 20th century and with Roger.

This is a chapter that just lets us know what Roger is doing at this point in the story. It gives us a hint of what’s going on between him and Brianna but doesn’t really add anything extra to the overall story. It’s nothing like the previous jump to the 20th century when Roger found the devastating obituary.

It also feels a little odd in placement in the story. I’ll get to that as I break it down, as it won’t take too long to get into this chapter and explain it all.

I’m not surprised that it wasn’t used for the TV series. With so little time to tell a story, the writers needed to cut out the storylines that weren’t really useful for the overall story. This was one of those parts. And while I love Roger, I didn’t really miss it.

However, there is a little bit of foreshadowing in this chapter. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section, and it all connects to what’s to come for Roger.

This is a short chapter, though. It takes seven minutes on Audible, but I’m sure it took me less time to read in the book. Let’s dive into Drums of Autumn Chapter 24.
