A past mistake comes back to haunt the Frasers in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 9

Remember when Jamie helped Stephen Bonnet get to safety? That decision comes back to haunt him in Outlander Book 4, Chapter 9.

Things are arguably going way too smoothly for the Frasers when it comes to the journey to River Run. Claire and Jamie routinely find themselves in the middle of drama. Why would they possibly get a boat ride without it?

Bonnet turns up, and it’s a moment that just couldn’t be scraped from the TV show. There were some changes made, and I’ll get to them in the adaptation section. One of the changes I thoroughly agreed with the showrunners, and I had questioned the storyline in the book in the first place.

It’s a chapter of about normal length for Drums of Autumn. It comes in at just short of an hour on Audible, and it’s the last chapter of Part Three.

Get ready for a longer chapter as Claire and Jamie arrive at River Run. The introduction to Jocasta and the plantation is just short of an hour and 30 minutes on Audible, so I want to make sure you’re ready! There is also a close-to three-hour chapter coming up next week.

Let’s dive into Drums of Autumn Chapter 9.
