Happy trailerversary: Celebrating Outlander’s first look trailer for Season 1
Outlander fans-to-be got their first look at the show in the first Outlander trailer
Has it really been seven years? STARZ released the first Outlander trailer seven years ago today. Book fans got to see Claire and Jamie brought to life for the very first time, and non-readers got a look into a world that they would come to love.
It’s hard to imagine a world without Outlander on TV. The first seven books in the series were already out, but for many years it seemed they were too long and detailed to be brought to the screen with any justice.
Ronald D. Moore took on the challenge, though, and secured the rights for the show. The rest, as they say, is history.
The first Outlander trailer introduces Claire, Jamie, Frank, Black Jack Randall, and dancing druids
The casting for Outlander’s power couple had been announced long before the trailer, but the first look brought us actual footage from the show for the first time. I remember how excited I was to see this world that had previously existed only in our mind’s eyes.
Take a look at the first Outlander trailer
The trailer shows us Claire telling someone she’d “fallen through time.” We get to see a mix of scenes from the 1940s and 1740s. They also introduce us to the Season 1 tagline “What if your future was the past?”
Some key Outlander moments are included. We see Claire touching the central stone at Craigh na Dun. The MacKenzie party arrives at Castle Leoch. Claire introduces herself to Dougal as Claire Beauchamp. We even get to see a glimpse of intimacy between Jamie and Claire as she examines his wound.
From the looks of this trailer, the show promised history, action, time travel, drama, and sex. How could you NOT want to watch?
