The last we left Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont, they were taking a step into the past. It’s time to find out where they landed in the A Discovery of Witches Season 2 premiere.
In the UK, you can watch the episode tonight on Sky One. For those in North America, there are two streaming services the episodes will be available. You can pick from either Sundance Now or Shudder. Both streaming services are available directly or via Amazon Channels.
Episodes are available from midnight ET, just like they are with Outlander on the STARZ App. Only one episode is available at a time, with new episodes released each week. There are eight episodes in total.
What to expect on A Discovery of Witches Season 2
For decades, Diana has turned her back on her magic. She’s never been interested in controlling it, but during the first season, she learned she had no choice.
After managing to call the Book of Life without even meaning to, she ended up with daemons, witches, and vampires after her. Fortunately for her, Matthew Clairmont is a vampire who means to do some good in the world. He just wants to prevent his people (and others, really) from dying out. So, he wants his hand on that book, and he’s willing to protect Diana to do it.
Naturally, the two fell in love. Relationships between witches and vampires (or any different magical creatures) are forbidden, so the two find themselves at risk of other creatures for their love.
At the end of the first season, Diana and Matthew took a step into the past to find the Book of Life, and that’s where A Discovery of Witches Season 2 will pick up.
The two are in Elizabethan London. They’ll need to find a powerful witch who will not only help find the Book of Life but also help Diana to control her magic. They’ll also need to find people who aren’t completely against the idea of a witch and a vampire being together.
Meanwhile in the present day, there are plenty of witches and daemons looking to get the two of them back, along with the Book of Life.
