STARZ is supporting Outlander on its For Your Consideration site for Emmy nominations

Outlander and awards shows have a troubled history.  Although it performs well with fan-chosen awards, the show has received a few nominations but generally underperformed at the big awards events.  However, STARZ is still promoting Outlander for possible Emmy nominations.

STARZ has launched a For Your Consideration (FYC) website promoting several of their shows.  Some of the other shows included are P-ValleyThe Spanish PrincessVida, and Power Book II: Ghost.

Outlander has been put forth for awards in 17 different categories.  This doesn’t guarantee that Outlander will actually get any nominations, but STARZ must promote the show FYC in order to even be considered.

Outlander is being promoted for acting, directing, writing, and technical Emmy nominations

Not surprisingly, STARZ has put forth Outlander for the drama series award and Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe for lead actor and actress.  They’re also supporting Sophie and Lauren for supporting actress, Richard and César for supporting actor, and the entire ensemble.

They’re promoting the episodes “Never My Love” and “The Ballad of Roger Mac” for the directing award.  Jamie Payne and Stephen Woolfenden directed those episodes respectively.  Matt Roberts and Toni Graphia are being considered for writing “Never My Love.”

Outlander is also being promoted for technical nominations in production design, casting, cinematography, costume design, editing, make-up, sound effects and mixing, and stunt ensemble.

Season 5 was definitely a strong season for Outlander.  Hopefully, some of the cast and crew will receive some well-deserved nominations.  We do have to keep in mind, however, that if the Emmys haven’t taken note of Outlander by now, they might not do it at all.

Who do you think deserves an Emmy nomination for this season?  Tell us in the comments below.
