Sam Heughan pops up in the new trailer for his film To Olivia, which comes out in February 2021
2020 has been a busy year for Outlander’s Sam Heughan, despite the pandemic. He wrote a book with Graham McTavish. He released his own whisky label. He’s got two movies in the works. One of those is To Olivia, and a trailer for it came out on Dec. 22.
To Olivia is a true story about the lives of Roald Dahl and Patricia Neal. Dahl was the author of children’s books such as James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and his wife Neal was an award-winning actress.
The film stars Hugh Bonneville as Roald Dahl and Keeley Hawes as Patricia Neal. Sam Heughan plays Paul Newman, an actor who was in the film Hud with Neal.
The To Olivia trailer shows a couple struggling through their grief to get back to normal life
The trailer introduces Dahl, Neal, and their daughters Olivia and Tessa. The couple loses Olivia to the measles at age seven. We see Dahl struggling to write until a boy suggests that their daughter would like to be remembered with a happy story. It appears the film will explore the writing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
We see Sam Heughan as Paul Newman playing pool and smiling, and I think we might hear his voice over the telephone telling Neal he wants her to be in his picture. I can’t wait to see more!
It looks like To Olivia will be a heartwarming family film that will probably require a few tissues. With great actors like Bonneville, Hawes, and Sam, it should definitely be worth the watch.
