Claire and Jamie finally make it to Jamaica in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 57

After a long voyage, Claire and Jamie step onto Jamaican shores in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 57. It’s time to find out more about Mrs. Abernathy to find Young Ian.

Everything points to Mrs. Abernathy possibly having an idea where Young Ian is. Maybe he’s even been sold to her as a slave by pirates who kidnapped him. She’d possibly be innocent in the whole matter, but Claire and Jamie need to find out for themselves.

Of course, we know who Mrs. Abernathy is now. At first, we had no idea, just that she was just a Jacobite supporter—or maybe her husband is.

Actually, in this chapter, we do get to find out more about Mrs. Abernathy and her late husband. He died under mysterious circumstances, and it is certainly another clue as to who Mrs. Abernathy really is.

The chapter also brings up a couple of characters from the past. Claire learns that Jamie knows Lord John Grey, while the McIvers, who the two are staying with, share that Reverend Campbell is in Jamaica. It’s a small world when you think about it.

It’s time to dive into Voyager Chapter 57. I can’t believe how close to the end of the novel we’re getting.
