Claire thinks about Bree’s skills at drawing in the latest Outlander Book 9 Daily Lines

We’re all still waiting for Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, the ninth book in the epic saga by Diana Gabaldon. It will be done when it’s done, but for now, we get another Outlander Book 9 Daily Lines snippet.

As usual, all major spoilers have been removed. That includes a name in this snippet. The snippet opens with ” I had made up my mind what to do about [X] within moments of shouting “Pig-headed Scot!” at Jamie,” and the X is clearly an important character.

It’s hard to determine who it could be. There are a lot of Scots on Fraser’s Ridge, but it could be Young Ian, Roger, or a few other main characters we’ve come to know. It probably isn’t Jamie, though. Claire is shouting at Jamie, and why blank out his name if she’s already speaking to him?

The building of The New House continued during this chapter. It had burned down, which was the fire that led to the false obituary that led to Brianna joining her parents in the past. It’s taken some time to rebuild the house, but Claire has had her surgery during that time and Fanny continues to work by her side.

Brianna thinks Claire is a heron in the Outlander Book 9 Daily Lines

During the snippet, Claire thinks about Brianna’s skills at drawing. They’re skills Claire has often referred to, and every time, she thinks about how jealous she is of those skills. This is also something Claire has mentioned on the show when Bree drew portraits of the family when she and Roger decided to return to their own time.

Bree mentions how Claire looks like a heron at times because Claire can be “Beady-eyed and intent.” It certainly is the Claire we’ve come to know over the years in the books. Oh how I look forward to reading Claire’s thoughts when she sees a drawing of herself like that.
