Sassenach Whisky’s UK release delayed until December

Sam Heughan’s Sassenach Whisky release date in the UK has been pushed back

Fans of Outlander’s Sam Heughan in the UK will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on a dram of his whisky, which is called The Sassenach.  Now, Sam is saying it will be on sale on Dec. 10.

The Sassenach’s UK launch was initially meant to be on St. Andrew’s Day (Nov. 30), which celebrates the patron saint of Scotland.  Fans in the U.S. were able to preorder a bottle on Black Friday.  The U.S. release has done fairly well; both packages that were available without a special collector’s edition box have sold out.

The Sassenach Spirits account tweeted on Nov. 30 that they were “working diligently” on the launch, but they must have run into some difficulties.  Heughan tweeted later to inform fans of the change of date.

What does the change of date mean for The Sassenach Whisky release?

Not much, it seems.  Whereas the St. Andrew’s Day launch was meant to be for presales, Sam noted that his whisky would be “ON SALE 10th December in the whole of the UK!!”  So those planning to purchase some will probably receive their orders soon after the Dec. 10 launch.

Sam Heughan’s whisky is very tasty, both rich on the palate and smooth going down.  I assure you that it is worth the wait!  Sam is justly proud of his whisky, which has won awards in the International Spirits Challenge and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.  He teased fans with a box of his “babies” on Dec. 2.
