Claire continues to treat the sick on the Porpoise in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 47
Claire tells us about the time on the Porpoise and the people she meets during Outlander Book 3, Chapter 47. She also learns what Tompkins knows.
This is an essential chapter, giving us more clues to who is the traitor on the Artemis (or making us question if there even a traitor there) and gets us ready for trouble in Jamaica. However, must of the focus is on treating the sick.
It’s not one of my favorite chapters, though. While I love seeing Claire in her element, there’s just much telling instead of showing. Tompkins is the one to tell Claire everything, which tells us it. Again, it’s just a problem I have with first-person POVs in books and why I’m not the biggest fan of them. I find they’re a lot of “he said this” and “she told me that.”
But back onto the chapter. It is so important that there’s no way the show could skip it. However, it was adapted slightly to suit the storyline that the show was working with. After all, the traitor part of the story was skipped over, but there was still trouble for Jamie when he got to Jamaica.
This is a chapter on the shorter side, coming in at around 35 minutes. Let’s get into the Voyager Chapter 47 breakdown.
