STARZ announces Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham is coming in early 2021

Get ready, Outlander fans!  STARZ has announced that Men in Kilts, Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish’s docuseries about Scotland, is coming out early next year.  The show will be just the thing to take the edge off a long Droughtlander.

Men in Kilts will follow Sam and Graham as they travel through Scotland to learn more about her history and culture.  The show was originally meant to be a podcast but transformed into something more.  Perhaps you’ve already had a taste of their Scottish adventure by reading Clanlands, a book they wrote about their experience making the show.

I am so looking forward to Men in Kilts.  Like most Outlander fans, Heughan and McTavish are clearly passionate about Scotland.  They are sure to reveal plenty of great stories about their homeland.  With the combination of history and the two actors’ obvious friendship, which already shines through in the clips we’ve seen, how could you go wrong?

STARZ tweeted out a duo of videos on the Men in Kilts account on Nov. 29 and 30.  The first is a tease for the show, and the second discusses why the Scots celebrate St. Andrew’s Day.  St. Andrew was the patron saint of Scotland, and his day is a national holiday (just without the day off work).

Men in Kilts will be “an adventure worth watching” according to Graham and Sam

In the teaser video, Sam and Graham propose their Scottish road trip as the perfect cure to being trapped at home.  They promise to “explore what it means to be Scottish.  The history.  The whisky.  The culture.  The whisky.  No, the kilts.”  If this is a sample of the banter we can expect in Men in Kilts, we are in for some serious fun.

In the second video, Sam struggles slightly to explain the martyrdom of St. Andrew and then uses him as a plug for his UK Sassenach whisky release.  Graham calls him “utterly shameless.”  They go on to wonder who the patron saint of whisky is, and Graham suggests Sam should apply.  He seems to like the sound of Saint Sam.
