Claire and Jamie set sail in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 41, although the chances of finding Young Ian are getting slimmer. They’re sailing out a month after arriving in Paris.

Of course, the journey to the West Indies isn’t completely drama-free, and it’s not all about Marsali joining the voyage without Jamie knowing about it until its too late. There is someone on the ship who may or may not want Jamie dead.

Oh yes, there is plenty going on in this chapter. Not all of it made it to the show, though. Part of that is because the storylines this chapter leads to couldn’t be included in the show. There just wasn’t the time, so some storylines had to be heavily adapted to suit the amount of time available to tell the story.

Instead, the show created its own drama on the ship. Not everyone liked it, but it’s just the way it is.
