Star Force fans can rejoice as the third video in the series has been released
The long-awaited sequel to the home-taped sci-fi spoof was revealed on Nov. 19. A breath of fresh air for those of us suffering through Droughtlander, Star Force 3: Part 1 stars James McAvoy and Outlander’s own Steven Cree and Caitriona Balfe again as members of the intrepid Star Force crew.
The series’s third outing introduces two new faces to the Star Force universe. Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) is the evil scientist Flurgzool, who cloned Captain before the first video took place. Florence Pugh (Little Women) appears at the end, seemingly ready to come to the team’s aid.
All of the elements that made the first two Star Force videos so charming are still present in the third one: the clever self-taping, the unexpected props, the cheesy special effects, and Second in Command’s moving mole. This time, however, the crew members find themselves in more danger than they’ve ever been before.
Be prepared for space adventures galore in Star Force 3: Part 1
When we last left our crew, the bartender and new sheriff of Planet Eastwood (Teresa Palmer) had given Captain a space artifact to help in the search for his clone. We soon find out that she did so for the evil scientist Flurgzool, who proceeds to kill her. While Angus is running tests on the artifact, he’s seemingly overtaken by a strange energy coming out of it.
Captain (McAvoy) beams down to the planet Quantor to visit his mentor, the Wise Old Alien. He insists on going alone, even though the crew insists it’s too dangerous. The Wise Old Alien speaks in riddles, “A goose is great, but a badger is better,” but Captain seems to understand him before he fades into nothingness.
Back on the ship, Pilot, Blorg, and Sandra go to investigate a power leak in the loading bay. They all run into the transformed Angus, and things do not look good. Second in Command barely manages to send out a distress call before Angus find her.
Down on Quantor, Captain meets up with his future self, who’s been giving him advice, but it turns out that it’s really his future clone! Then, Flurgzool shows up with the Death Force, who look shockingly familiar. Will any of our crew survive? We’ll have to wait for Star Force 3: Part 2, which is “on its way” according to the credits.
