It’s time to sort out Jamie’s unintentional bigamy in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 38
Now that Jamie is healed, it’s time to get onto the legal matters involving his bigamy. Let’s get into our breakdown of Outlander Book 3, Chapter 38.
Jamie is now healed, which means the focus can move onto the legal problems. Laoghaire is looking for vengeance, and in a way, I can’t really blame her. She just not interested in the whole story, but I don’t even think a judge would look at Jamie all that well considering he arguably knew Claire hadn’t died.
There is a lot of this chapter that wasn’t used in the TV show. There will have been a couple of reasons for this based on time, cost, and casting. I’ll get into them in the adaptation section, but I will say that I don’t mind that there were some of these changes. There was just one small thing that I don’t remember being in the show that I think could have worked well.
This is the chapter that gives us the reason for the gold to come back up again. It’s the chapter that puts Claire and Jamie on a ship headed to the West Indies. And there are elements of the chapter that simply couldn’t be missed on the show.
The chapter itself is about an hour long and packed with details. It’s not all about Jamie, either. We get some time between Jenny and Claire, and we learn a little more about what Fergus is doing now—or more like, what he planned to do.
Let’s get into the Voyager Chapter 38 breakdown. Are you ready?
