Have you seen the first two hilarious installments of Star Force: Sci-fisolation
What is Star Force? It is a brilliant Star Trek spoof starring some of your favorite actors from Outlander. Caitriona Balfe is Second in Command, and Steven Cree plays the always-fashionable Blorg. Sam Heughan makes an appearance as a sheriff in the second video.
Star Force: Sci-fisolation is the brainchild of Kevin Mains and Brendan O’Rourke, who also star as crew members. The true charm behind the spoof is that it’s all self-taped. None of the actors can interact with each other, and they’re on their own when it comes to finding props. Blenders and washing machines become starship parts. Bananas become laser guns! I’m sure you get the idea. Special effects are added in later.
In a virtual chat with Steven Cree, who is a friend of the spoof’s creators, he told us that he acted as the casting director for Star Force and helped to secure many of the guest stars, like Sam and Caitriona. Teresa Palmer from A Discovery of Witches also joined the fun as the bartender in Star Force 2.
The Star Force crew face space misadventures on Quasar and Planet Eastwood
In Star Force: Sci-fisolation, the crew are on a mission to locate their Captain (James McAvoy). They beam up a third person along with Blorg and Sandra, and seemingly it’s Captain! But no, we find out it’s his clone. He attacks the crew, but the real Captain shows up to save them.
In Star Force 2, the crew is hunting Captain’s clone but diverts to the Planet Eastwood in search of flexilium to power their ship. For some reason Planet Eastwood resembles the American Wild West, “yee haw!” The bartender mistakes Captain for his clone; the crew are put in jail, and Captain faces off against the evil sheriff alone. Watch below to see what happens. I dare you not to giggle!
