Claire leaves Lallybroch in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 35

Claire makes a journey back to the stones in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 35. Will she return to her own time?

It’s certainly something she thinks is best in this chapter. I always forget that this is how things play out in the novel. As a show-first fan for the first three seasons, I remember how the storyline played out. When there are some changes, I have to think carefully about why and how I remember it.

So, I forgot that Claire physically left Lallybroch during Voyager Chapter 35. I forgot that we didn’t actually see Laoghaire shoot Jamie. The change in the show makes a lot of sense in terms of utilizing the cast they have available and showing us the events instead of telling us them, and I certainly don’t begrudge it.

This is a chapter on the shorter side. Like the previous one, it comes in at around 25 minutes, although it’s packed with Claire’s thoughts and fears. It’s certainly an interesting chapter, and I’m sure reading it without knowing what happened would have been intense. Would Claire leave Jamie?

Let’s get to it. Here’s our breakdown of the Voyager chapter.
