Claire fights off an ‘attacker’ in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 31
The last chapter of Voyager Chapter 31 is a short one. However, it’s still a good one to break down in the Outlander Book Club.
This is one of those chapters that didn’t make it into the show. There wasn’t the time for the Arbroath storyline and there was no way to make it work by combining it with another storyline. While there is some humor in the chapter that would have been nice to include, I can completely understand why this chapter was missed out.
However, for the book, it’s an excellent chapter to round up the smuggling storyline. With everything that goes wrong, it’s clear that Jamie’s smuggling business on the coast needs to wrap up for a little while. It’s just not safe to keep going.
And it’s not Claire’s fault. Her actions were an attempt to save Jamie and his men. She just happened to find out that the man she fought against wasn’t an attacker after all. This is where some of the humor comes into the chapter.
It’s time to break down the six-minute chapter from Voyager. Are you ready for it?
