Jamie and Claire head to Arbroath in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 30
Outlander Book 3, Chapter 30 is one of those chapters purely for the book. It’s something that was never adapted for the TV series.
For the overall story, it wasn’t necessary on the show. At least, I didn’t feel it was, and I’ll get into that in the adaptation section. For the book, it offered more drama. We got to know Young Ian a little more as he protected his auntie, and there were some connections back to past chapters.
Jamie and Claire, along with others, head to Arbroath. They need to meet with people linked to Jamie’s smuggling business, but will it all go without a hitch? This is Outlander, what do you think?
The chapter is relatively short at 24 minutes on Audible. There’s a much shorter one coming up to finish Part Six off tomorrow. I’m sure many of you read both chapters together because they’re so short and Chapter 30 certainly leads into Chapter 31.
Let’s take a look at the breakdown of the Voyager chapter. This is going to be a short post today, especially when it comes to the foreshadowing and adaptation section. I thought I’d warn you about that.
