Claire meets the women who work in the brothel in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 26

Now that Claire has found out what Jamie is up to, it’s time for her to entertain herself for a while. Let’s breakdown the events from Outlander Book 3, Chapter 26.

The chapter takes place within the brothel walls for the majority of it. There’s one part that could technically be outside, but it’s all in the eyeshot of some of the women who work in the brothel. Some of it also takes place in the cellar beneath.

A couple of characters return during this chapter, with a new one introduced to Claire. Not only does Claire learn what Jamie has been up to, but also that he’s happy lying to Ian Murray about the whereabouts of a son.

On top of that, we get a storyline mentioned that will come up in a later part. This storyline didn’t make it to the TV series, and I’m not that bothered that it didn’t. Honestly, I didn’t feel like the season overall missed this particular part, and I’ll delve into that during the breakdown of the adaptation.

This is the longest chapter of Part Six in Voyager, coming in at around one hour and 45 minutes on Audible. It’s the longest chapter of the whole book. No two- or three-hour chapters in this one. It is packed with information, though, and it doesn’t feel like it takes so long to read.

Let’s breakdown Voyager Chapter 26.
