Claire meets Mr. Willoughby in Outlander Book 3, Chapter 25

During Outlander Book 3, Chapter 25, Claire meets Mr. Willoughby, also known as Yi Tien Cho. She also learns where Jamie sometimes sleeps!

Oh yes, the brothel comes up in this chapter. Claire learns that Madame Jeanne is one of Jamie’s customers, although she can’t quite figure out how that’s possible. What would a brothel madame want with a printer?

This is where we learn what Jamie is up to. We get to know about the business that he has on the side, which may or may not get him into trouble.

The two don’t chat too much, though. This chapter is all about them reconnecting on a physical level, something that they certainly need. However, it’s also an important chapter to set up storylines for the future of the series. In fact, there’s a little foreshadowing of things to come in Drums of Autumn.

This is a longish chapter for Voyager. It comes in at around one-hour-40-minutes on Audible. The chapters after this are also on the longer side. After all, there’s a lot of information to fit in as the story feels like it’s finally getting started now that the two are back together.

Some of this chapter was adapted. Claire meeting Yi Tien Cho was slightly different, and I’m glad for it. I didn’t really care for the way Yi Tien Cho was written in the book and his character was one of my favorite changes on the TV show. I’ll get into that, though.

Here’s our breakdown of Voyager Chapter 25.
