Just the Outlander chapter

Claire is back in Scotland. She, Roger, and Brianna run through everything that they’ve found about Jamie. Roger and Brianna managed to find the deed of sasine, the paperwork that signed Lallybroch over to Young Jamie.

This is important. Bree and Roger needed to see Jamie’s handwriting so they could compare it to something else they found. They had an article with written notes by a man named Alexander Malcolm. There could have been hundreds of Alexander Malcolms in Scotland in the 18th century, so knowing Jamie’s handwriting was essential.

However, there was something in the article that stood out to Roger. There was a line about freedom and whisky, a line from a Robert Burns poem.

Not that strange? How about the fact that Burns was only six when the article had been written? Someone with knowledge of the future had to have written it, which connects back to Jamie. Claire had quoted the exact poem to Jamie during the Jacobite rising.

The article had to be written by Jamie. And the handwriting compared to the deed of sasine certainly seems to match.

And so, Claire has a choice to make. Will she go to the past to Jamie? She heads to a store to buy a dress that looks like it’s from the 18th century. She’d prefer not to have zippers, but that’s the least of her concerns right now. She is getting ready for returning to the 18th century.
