The Crown: Take a look at Tobias Menzies in Season 4 of the Netflix series
Tobias Menzies is in one of the new images released for The Crown Season 4
Tobias Menzies did Outlander fans proud on The Crown Season 3. We saw a character vastly different to both Black Jack Randall and Frank Randall, showing us the type of actor Menzies is.
The Crown Season 4 is just around the corner. Netflix has images of the season, bringing us a first look at some of the main characters. Menzies’s Prince Philip is among the images.

There are a small selection images from the season. It’s not clear when in the season these images are from. One of the benefits of filming the entire season together ready to release as a binge-watch is that the images can be taken from various points of the story.
Out of the four images, one of them is Menzies as Prince Philip. He’s stood with Olivia Colman’s Queen Elizabeth II in a box at the theater. There’s a good chance that this is at the Royal Variety Performance, which is done every year to raise money for the Royal Variety Charity.
While there were various performances between 1912 to 1955, it became an annual event from 1957, and it’s something the Royal Family regularly has a representative.

A season focused on Margaret Thatcher and Diana, Princess of Wales
The Crown Season 4 will be an important one for more recent stories. We’re getting into the 1980s and 1990s, focusing on stories that involve Prince Charles marrying Diana, Princess of Wales, and Margaret Thatcher becoming the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
What will be interesting is seeing Prince Philip’s reactions to the two storylines, especially when it comes to a female running the country. Will he have anything negative to say despite his wife being the Head of State? What about when it comes to Prince Charles being forced to choose duty over love?
There isn’t long to wait to see how it all plays out.
