Outlander leads share their favorite Outlander Season 5 moments
Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan talk their favorite Outlander Season 5 moments
Outlander Season 5 was a strong season, filled with some excellent moments. To mark the end of Outlander End of Summer Series, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan talked about their favorite moments from the season.
This wasn’t an easy question to answer. It turns out there are a few things that they both adored about the most recent season in the story.
The episodic feel once more
When you look back at Outlander Seasons 1 and 2, there is this episodic feeling to the episodes. You know what happened based on the title of the episode, making it clear where the characters were in the story.
When it comes to Season 3 and more into Season 4, there is a merge of storylines. They’re not as clear cut, and part of that is having two different timelines running at the same time.
Season 5 got back to the episodic storytelling, which is something Caitriona Balfe enjoyed. It was about doing something different each season.
Saying goodbye in Outlander Season 5
Another important moment for Balfe was saying goodbye to Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser (and, of course, Duncan Lacroix). While Episode 7 is a hard episode, she only had praise for Sam Heughan’s performance and shared how much she loved doing the episode.
It’s something Heughan seemed to agree with, feeling that it was necessary.
The final episode of the season
Sam Heughan followed on with praise for Balfe during the Season 5 finale. She was certainly magnificent, even though the episode was extremely difficult to watch. The stylized options made it a little easier.
However, it turns out Heughan didn’t enjoy the fighting scenes. It was 4 a.m. and he could barely see anything. He worried about hurting someone during the scenes, but he did have a lot of praise for John Bell during those scenes.
