It’s time for a wedding in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 45, but it’s not a happy one

Outlander Book 2, Chapter 45 wrapped up another storyline, making it clear we were getting ready for Claire to return to her own time. It’s time to break down the chapter.

This is an essential chapter to explain Frank’s lineage. While many people don’t like Frank, he is the reason Claire was in Scotland in the first place. He is the one who agrees to raising a child that isn’t his, knowing that Claire loved another man more deeply. Frank being alive was essential to the overall story.

And we finally get to see how it was all possible. All those hints that Frank wasn’t Black Jack Randall’s direct descendant came into play. We finally got to understand how Black Jack Randall could have a child without actually having a child.

It was also a chapter filled with sadness. This wedding was not a happy affair. It was surrounded by the weight of a death to come.

While it is an important chapter, it’s also a relatively short chapter. It comes in at less than 30 minutes on Audible, although I think it took me a little longer just to look through the minute details.

It was also a chapter used but heavily adapted for the show. Considering the ill feelings between two certain characters, I’m glad the show opted to make a slight change.

Let’s get into the Dragonfly in Amber chapter breakdown.
