5 best Claire moments from the Outlander Season 3 premiere
Cooking over the campfire
When the stove doesn’t light (remember those darned stoves?), Claire gave up and sat on the couch in defeat. That’s when she came to realize she had another option. She could cook over the campfire.
Something that I love about this moment is that she thinks further back to the past. While part of her will be thinking of the 18th century, she also thought of her Uncle Lamb. Maybe that’s just because there was someone with her who wouldn’t understand time travel, but she didn’t seem to second guess her answers about where she learned to cook over the campfire.
The hesitations came from mentions of Frank and how he would like his food. They came from thoughts of Jamie. I adore that it didn’t all come back to Jamie, and Claire was able to think to further back.

The day with Frank’s boss
Men like Frank’s boss grind my gears. There are still far too many like them who think that a woman’s place is in the kitchen and raising babies. I can barely bite my tongue around them, so I completely relate to Claire as she sits in the chair and has to allow this man to talk to her in the way he does.
There’s nothing she nor Frank can do without risking Frank’s employment. You can tell that Frank doesn’t really like what his boss says, but he has to bite his tongue, too.
Claire has to do it all the more so. She knows what she wants and it sets up for Claire going to medical school in the next episode. However, in this moment, she just has to bide her time.
