Claire and Jamie prepare to join Charles’s army in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 35

In the previous chapter, Claire and Jamie learn that they have no choice but to join Charles’s army. They make preparations for that to happen in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 35.

It’s the last chapter of Part Five in the novel. It seems fitting that we’re ending the week with this. In fact, it’s useful in terms of timing. Chapter 36 is an almost three-hour chapter. Some of you will need the weekend to get all the way through it due to work and life.

This chapter offers us a look at Jenny, who is trying to manage her family. She wants a whole man in her life, which means she needs to let Ian leave with Jamie. Of course, to do that, she needs Jamie to agree to Ian going with him.

This is a relatively average-length chapter, coming in at just short of 40 minutes. It’s not used all that much in the series, though. However, some elements of the chapter were used in other parts of the show slightly out of place. This definitely isn’t the first time or the last time this has happened.
