Outlander Untold: Murtagh and Ulysses get a story
Murtagh and Ulysses will get a story in the Season 5 Outlander Untold
In case you still need a push to pre-ordering the Outlander Season 5 Collector’s Edition, we have something that may sway you. One of the Outlander Untold segments will be Murtagh and Ulysses.
Outlander Untold is a special addition to the Collector’s Edition boxsets. They started in Season 4, with the production choosing to film scenes that were only for bonus features. They wouldn’t fit anywhere into the main season, and instead, offer a little extra for characters with less screentime.
Something the segments offer is a chance to see two characters interact that you wouldn’t normally see on the show. That’s the case for the segment involving Murtagh and Ulysses.
What will this segment be about?
The Outlander Collection shared on Instagram that the two will get a story. The behind-the-scenes photos suggest that it’s going to take place around the time of Jocasta’s wedding.
This would make sense. The only real time we’ve seen Murtagh and Ulysses get a chance to interact would be during the wedding. Well, before the wedding.
Murtagh went to Jocasta to pour his heart out. He wanted her to choose him and not Duncan Innes. However, Jocasta realized that she simply couldn’t be with a man who was so focused on fighting against the British. She feared he would be on the wrong side of history and she couldn’t go through something like the Culloden aftermath again.
Ulysses was someone who helped Jocasta and Murtagh meet up in secret. He was the one to let Murtagh into Jocasta’s chambers and would have been outside when Murtagh left. We also know now that Ulysses loves Jocasta. The two men would likely connect over love for the same woman.
Ulysses didn’t get a lot of time to shine on the series. It seemed like just as we were getting to know him, we lost him. And Murtagh is always a well-loved character. Getting the two of them together, even for just a short scene, will be fun.
Outlander Season 5 is on DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 15.
