Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

Outlander Book 2, Chapter 25 offers plenty of foreshadowing at the end. It’s all about that blue light.

In Drums of Autumn, Nayawenne tells Claire that she will come into her full powers when her hair turns white. Claire is more than just a surgical healer. She’s a magical healer, which is something Nayawenne can see. It’s something foreshadowed within this chapter.

Claire’s healing abilities bring a blue light. That’s the blue light she sees when Master Raymond is healing her and the blue aura around her.

We still haven’t got to the point where Claire’s hair is completely white, but it sounds like it may happen in the ninth book.

Another element of foreshadowing is the time traveler connection. Master Raymond isn’t from the future, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a time traveler. That mention of the blue light matching his own suggests that she is a descendent from him. Of course, in “The Space Between,” we learn that all travelers are descended from him.

Adapting the Dragonfly in Amber chapter

There was no way that this chapter couldn’t be used in the book. It’s just too important to explain what happened to Claire and Jamie’s first child and how Claire survived childbed fever.

The show and the book told the story slightly differently. We didn’t get everything in the hospital right away, with Claire thinking back over the story. However, healing from childbed fever is one of the first things. We have Claire’s voiceover offering us her thoughts while she’s in her fevered state.

“Faith” is one of my favorite chapters when it comes to the acting abilities. However, it’s certainly a hard watch in terms of emotion.
