Claire finds out why she is La Dame Blanche in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 20

After the events of the night before, Claire starts to think about La Dame Blanche in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 20. It’s time to break down this chapter.

There’s a lot going on in this chapter, so it shouldn’t be surprised that on Audible, we’re back up to the usual 40-minute or so chapter length. Not only do we find out about why Claire is known as La Dame Blanche, but we also get to see more interaction between Claire and Master Raymond.

This chapter certainly has some foreshadowing going on. Claire says things without thinking about why she’s saying it, but it’s clear to us that she wants more in life. Granted, we already know that she became a doctor by this point in the story because we’ve already have the 1968 chapters, so it’s not surprising to us that Claire eventually does become a real doctor.

However, this chapter also includes a little foreshadowing of Raymond’s background and how he’s going to help Claire in the future. Of course, he’s also not afraid to tell her all about the gossip going around and wants to hear the genuine truth from “Madonna.”

This chapter was partially used in the series. It was transformed and had some elements at different points of the season, which would have been linked to filming and time more than likely.

Let’s get into the Dragonfly in Amber chapter.
