Jamie comes home in the morning after a night with Charles in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 17
This is one of my least favorite chapters of Outlander Book 2. However, read it I will as we go through Dragonfly in Amber and break it down chapter by chapter.
During Chapter 17, Jamie comes up in the morning, much later than anyone expected. Rather than be fully apologetic for it and for what Claire sees, he shows just how much of an 18th-century man he is. One thing I do appreciate is that we see Jamie certainly isn’t perfect, but also Claire gives into apologies a little too easily.
As for foreshadowing, I don’t think there’s all that much. At least, I didn’t see it, but I do appreciate when others share their thoughts about foreshadowing in the books.
This was a chapter used for the show, though. It was used very differently, and in this case, it evolved into something bigger and it did connect directly to a bigger part of the storyline. As I read Dragonfly in Amber Chapter 17 again, part of me does prefer the way the show handled it.
It’s time to breakdown the chapter. Are you ready to get into the last chapter of Part Two of the book?
