Claire dreams of Frank in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 10
We pick up straight off the back of the previous chapter in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 10. It’s time to find out who is really at the luncheon.
The previous chapter made us think it was Black Jack Randall. It turns out that isn’t the case anymore. Why would the show not keep things the way it was in the book? I have some suspicions based on casting, but I’ll get to that in the TV show breakdown.
After seeing who it really is at the luncheon, Claire dreams of Frank Randall. It opens up a very important conversation with Jamie when Claire wakes from the dream. We also get a tiny bit of foreshadowing within the chapter.
This is a relatively short chapter. We’re looking at about 25 minutes in length on Audible, making it the second shortest chapter of Part Two. The next chapter makes up for that, so I wouldn’t be too disappointed about this one.
While it is short, it’s an intriguing one. It shows more of what’s going on in Claire’s head. More importantly, it’s her subconscious. While she hasn’t mentioned Frank all that much, except for when he’s genuinely come up due to events around her and Jamie, he is an important part of her life.
Here’s a look into the Dragonfly in Amber chapter.
