18. The women taking down the bison

Episode: Season 5, Episode 9

When Jamie was bitten by the snake, it was up to the women mostly to run the show. And they managed it extremely well.

When a bison (buffalo, depending on what you want to call it) attacked, Lizzie screamed and alerted the others. She stood in the way of Jemmy while Brianna got the attention of the animal. As Brianna risked her life, Claire shot the bison.

Each woman played a role. Without all three of them, things could have turned out horribly wrong.

And of course, at the end, you had to love Jamie dragging himself out onto the porch. Regardless of what was going on with him, he tried to protect the women.

17. Young Ian’s return

Episode Season 5, Episode 8

I wasn’t expecting Young Ian’s return so early on in Outlander Season 5. And it’s partially because of that that this moment stands out.

However, the way his return was written in is something that stands out. It was just at the right time for everyone, even though we could immediately tell that Young Ian wasn’t the same carefree young man that he was at the end of Outlander Season 4.

As Jamie got ready to take on a hog to protect Claire and Jemmy, an arrow landed in the hog. Young Ian stood above them, with Rollo bounding up by his side. It was just right.
