Claire meets with Fiona in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 3

Outlander Book 2, Chapter 3 is told purely from Claire’s point of view. She has secrets, which Roger found out about during his research into the men from Culloden. However, these secrets are far bigger than Roger could consider right now.

This may be a short chapter (it’s less than 20 minutes on Audible), but it’s full of mystery and intrigue. As Roger has wondered whether Claire is planning on telling Brianna the truth about her father, we learn that there’s certainly something Claire wants to share. The question is how much.

Claire had already asked Roger not to take Bree to Craigh na Dun, but it’s clear she wants to take Bree there eventually. That suggests that Claire wants to tell Brianna the full truth about time travel, and not just skirt around a few things about Jamie.

What we do get is a chance to see Brianna and Claire interact together. We see their relationship, which isn’t as cold as the TV show initially made it out to be. However, with so little time and the need to show Bree as a Daddy’s Girl with Frank, I understand why the show made the decisions it did.
