We’re breaking down Outlander Book 2, Chapter 2

We’re onto the second of 49 chapters in Outlander Book 2, Chapter 2. Dragonfly in Amber is certainly an intriguing book at the beginning, as we try to piece together history.

The chapter continues with Roger’s perspective. Unlike the first chapter, we don’t get anything from Claire’s point of view in this chapter. We also don’t get to know Brianna’s thoughts. She’s just mentioned in Roger’s thoughts and when he speaks to her.

However, this chapter is extremely important. It includes major reveals about what is to come, including the reasons for Claire’s return to her own time. Roger puts a lot together in a short space of time but, understandably, jumps to a few conclusions. That doesn’t stop his many questions.

While some of this chapter was used for the series, it was done differently. This would have been linked to the lack of time on the show since there was only one chapter to tell this part of the story. However, we did get to fill in the blanks earlier, with the first episode of Outlander Season 2 being set in 1948.

On Audible, we’re at just over the hour with this chapter. It won’t feel like it when you’re reading or listening to it, though!

Here’s our breakdown of Outlander Book 2, Chapter 2.
