Claire tells Anslem the truth in Outlander Book 1, Chapter 40

Can you believe that we’re onto the penultimate chapter of the first Outlander book? It’s time for Claire to tell Anslem the truth and tomorrow we’ll be onto our last day of this book in the Outlander Book Club.

As I’ve said before, we will move onto the second book, but there will be a small break. I’ll be honest and say that these breakdowns take a lot of work, so I need time to recharge a little, get into Dragonfly in Amber, and break those chapters down. I think some of you joining in also need time to catch up, and I get that!

But let us focus on Outlander Book 1, Chapter 40. Claire and Jamie remain in the abbey. After taking drastic measures to save Jamie, Claire realizes that it’s paid off. However, Jamie still has a little more to share and Claire needs to release some of the weight on her own shoulders.

Some of this chapter was used in the TV series. I’ve already mentioned in from a previous chapter breakdown. I knew this part was coming so I didn’t get too much into it, but this chapter was adapted slightly likely for the sake of time. It was still important.

On top of that, this is an important chapter for growth and healing. Let’s delve in.
