15 best Brianna moments from Outlander Season 5
4. Episode 11: Saying goodbye to Lizzie
Episode 11 had some emotional moments. While her goodbye with Claire was certainly strong, there is one that stands out the most. It’s all about the goodbye with Lizzie.
Lizzie was certain she’d head to Boston with Bree. After all, Lizzie was Bree’s maid. She was the one to look after Jemmy and do almost everything for Bree. Wouldn’t Bree need her?
From Brianna’s view, she had to find a cover story and a reason for Lizzie to stay at Fraser’s Ridge. And it was clearly an emotional story to create. Lizzie had become more than a purchase to Bree. Lizzie was Bree’s friend, someone she’d come to love. I adore that we got to see what leaving Lizzie meant to Bree.
3. Episode 9: Saving Jamie with the syringe
When Jamie was bitten by a snake, it looked like he was going to lose his leg or his life. Somehow, Claire needed to inject penicillin without a syringe. It was an impossible task. Jamie preferred to lose his life over his leg, but in the end, conceded that his leg was the better option.
Fortunately, Bree saved the day. She was finally able to use her engineering skills. Seeing the fang of the snake, she figured out how to create a syringe that would allow Claire to inject penicillin.
Not only do we see her as the final member of the family to save Jamie’s life and leg, but we also see her finally stepping up as a 20th-century woman. She feels she can contribute more and finds a way to make use of her skills.
