If Wendigo Donner returns on Outlander Season 6, this is what could happen to him
We met Wendigo Donner on the Outlander Season 5 finale. The Native American man was from the future and had one task—to prevent the genocide of his people. However, it all went terribly wrong when only two out of the Montauk Five made it through the stones and ended up in different time periods.
Now fans are curious about what will happen next. Wendigo Donner wasn’t seen among the men who Jamie and his men killed. Claire realized that he must have got away, which means he could return.
Based on the books, he should return on Outlander Season 6. His storyline should also connect to the fire at the Big House.
Wendigo Donner in A Breath of Snow and Ashes
We don’t actually meet Donner until the sixth book in the series. The storyline was pulled forward when a few storylines from the sixth book were used on Outlander Season 5. However, not all of his storylines have been used.
In the novels, Donner gets away under similar circumstances as in the show. He is one of those to run away when Jamie’s men show up. However, in the book he never talked to Claire and revealed he was a time traveler. That was reserved for Brianna’s storyline.
It makes sense in the show to condense it to Claire’s storyline. Only one episode will be needed to bring Donner’s story to an end.
He now knows that a gemstone is needed to travel. He also knows that Claire has gemstones. She said she would give him one if he helped her. While he didn’t help her, he’ll probably try to convince Claire that there was nothing he could have done once Jamie showed up. And arguably there wasn’t, but Claire isn’t exactly going to have much sympathy for him or want to give him a gemstone to travel back to his own time.
In the books, Donner ends up breaking into the Big House. He knocks over a flammable liquid. When Young Ian lights one of Brianna’s matches that she’s brought back from her time, the whole house goes up in flames. Claire, Jamie, Young Ian, and others get out but Donner dies in the fire.
This could be one of the earlier episodes, quickly wrapping up Donner’s storyline. Alternatively, it could be one of the last, building up to the fire that brought Brianna and Roger to the past in the first place.
