What will Roger do in the past on Outlander Season 6?

Roger now has to decide how he’s going to thrive and contribute in the past. What could he do for the Ridge on Outlander Season 6?

Now that Roger and Brianna have realized they belong in the past, it’s time to figure out how they can contribute. This is something for Roger to consider more than Brianna on Outlander Season 6. Bree has already tried to make a life on the Ridge (and as a woman, she’s expected to keep house and raise children), but Roger will need to find a place.

During the time of the militia, Roger kept up morale by singing. Now that he’s lost his voice, he’s going to have to find another way to contribute, especially choosing to stay in the past. So, what are his options?

If we look at “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” we can see the journey that Roger will go on. It connects to storylines from “The Fiery Cross” that weren’t used on Outlander Season 5. Many of them are focused on his faith.

Roger looks at becoming a minister. While it’s a different form of Christianity to many of the people on the Ridge, it’s a form that is accepted by the Crown. Roger is Protestant rather than Catholic. He could certainly thrive.

However, I wonder if this is something the show will skip over since it wasn’t used in the fifth season. Is it possible that we’ll focus on Roger’s teaching abilities? At a later point in the books, a school is set up for the children. This would be a perfect storyline to bring forward. And it seems to have been hinted at with the story of why Roger and Bree were going to Boston.

Everyone will know that Roger was going to be a university professor. They’d be honored to have a university professor as a teacher for their children. It would give the children of the Ridge a start that many of the parents didn’t have, and that’s something all good parents want for their children, right?
