Outlander Season 2, Episode 7 is an exceptional episode, albeit devastating. The ratings saw an uptick to see how it played out after Jamie’s arrest.
After a few weeks of dips, the live ratings for Outlander Season 2, Episode 7 were strong. It’s time to look back at the heartbreaking episode on its anniversary.
Titled “Faith,” this episode would see Caitriona Balfe prove just how worthy of an Emmy she is. She played a mother who lost her child and nearly lost her own life. At the same time, she thought her whole family was lost to her, with Jamie in the Bastille for dueling.
Understandably, she believed that Jamie just couldn’t keep his word. In the end, she learned that Jamie had dueled Black Jack Randall for Fergus’s honor. She made a deal with the king to have Jamie released and it was clear the attempt to prevent Culloden happening was over. They would need to leave France behind.
Viewers certainly tuned in live to see how it all played out. The episode saw a 14% uptick in the demo and 7% uptick in the total audience compared to the previous episode. From this point, it would be the strongest episode in the demo. In the audience, only the finale would overtake it from this point in the season.
Of course, this doesn’t account for the STARZ App views. TV Series Finale only has the live Nielsen ratings and they’re useless for premium cable networks. The premium networks with apps rely on subscribers rather than advertisers. It’s no wonder the show was renewed for two seasons shortly after this episode aired.
