Jon Gary Steele is officially leaving Outlander after five seasons
Every Outlander fan will know of Jon Gary Steele. He’s been the master behind all the beautiful sets. But after five seasons, he’s officially leaving.
Outlander is losing an important member of the crew. Jon Gary Steele is stepping away from the show after five seasons.
This was something rumored to be happening a while back. I didn’t want to report on it until I could find something official, and not that official statement has happened. Maril Davis, Sam Heughan, and others have made it clear that the master behind the beautiful sets is no longer going to be with the show.
It’s certainly a sad day. After all, this is the man who created the cabin, the Big House, Claire’s surgery, and so much more. And those sets are just from the fourth and fifth seasons. There has been so much throughout the years, transforming buildings into beautiful masterpieces that look lived in and extravagant. Steele is certainly going to be missed.

We don’t yet know who is going to take over with the sets. It took a while for Outlander to confirm who would take over from Terry Dresbach with the costumes when she stepped down after four seasons.
The good news is that the sets will be staying. We’ll continue to see the masterpieces that have been created, in a similar way that we still see some of the costumes from past seasons.
On a positive note, Jon Gary Steele is moving onto another project. It’s reportedly a Netflix series, but production on that show had to shut down due to the coronavirus like many others. As soon as we have all the details, we’ll be sure to let you know so you can follow the master at work.
