Listen to more of Bear McCreary’s music by watching Snowpiercer on TNT
Snowpiercer begins tonight on TNT and it’s full of Bear McCreary’s music
Outlander may be over for another season but that doesn’t mean you have to go without Bear McCreary’s music. And we’re not talking about the fact that the Season 5 soundtrack is out now. You can listen to his new score on Snowpiercer, starting tonight, Sunday, May 17.
Snowpiercer is based on the film and graphic novels of the same name. However, it’s set in between the novels and the movie. Seven years after the world became a frozen wasteland, the inhabitants of the perpetually moving train just try to live and survive. For those in First Class, it’s a relatively simple life. For those in the Tail, things are getting harder and harder each day.
There’s no need to read the novels or watch the film to enjoy this series. I can tell you that after screening all 10 episodes of the first season without seeing either. However, you’ll want to read the graphic novels and watch the movie afterward just to get more of an idea of this world that’s been created. The novels are certainly a must.
Bear McCreary has written the music for the series. You won’t recognize anything from Outlander. Just like his work on 10 Cloverfield Lane and Gods of War, his tracks are made specifically for the world he’s placed in.
This is a great chance to experience something different to see just how amazing of a composer he is. After all, when you hear Hans Zimmer, you can usually recognize the music from something else. When you hear Bear McCreary, it can often be a happy surprise to hear that it’s our favorite composer. He captures the world brilliantly as he always has done with other projects.
Snowpiercer begins tonight on TNT. You can watch with the streaming options below if you’re interested in listening to the music and watching something different to get through Droughtlander.
For those outside the United States, the show is heading to Netflix from May 25 and will air weekly.
